Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

New ZealandThe Indian lady at the reception was cold and not professional. She barely wanted to talk to us. When we asked for dropping off our bags, she told us to drop them beside the elevator where everyone has access to the bags. We felt not safe to do it then we discussed and checked with another lady. That lady then told us that she would keep it inside the reception area. The check in process was not a good experience.

United StatesThe hotel is stuck in Covid housekeeping protocols with rooms being cleaned after 3 nights while paying full price for a room. When it was time to have my room cleaned, I called the front desk to ask to have my room cleaned in a 4 hour window in the morning since i had calls in the afternoon. When I returned, the room wasn't cleaned and housekeeping had no idea od my request even though it was logged in. The manager subsequently shared that housekeeping priorities are cabin crews and conferences; my request was unreasonable. I disagree; all customers matter. ( Booking customers are not a priority). After I checked out and published a review on a travel website, another manager reached out to apologize, tell me new protocols around place to address these requests and to offer a partial discount.

CanadaBefore arriving to the hotel, we had sent 2 prior messages requesting an early checkin given that we would be travelling for 24 hours straight beforehand. We were reassured that the staff on-site would do whatever was in their power to make this possible. We were greeted by Menna upon our arrival, who very curtly stated that checkin was at 3pm and absolutely no effort would be made to see if an earlier checkin would be possible. We stated we were very flexible and would even be willing to change the beds/room to fit what was available. She refused to check and said we could wait in the lobby for 7+ hours. We were disappointed with this service, especially knowing that checkout is 11AM and we had seen plenty of people checking out around 9AM - making it absolutely impossible that there was not a single room available before 3pm. We also saw other people being checked in far earlier than us. This experience left us with a sour taste after travelling for 24 hours to reach Australia. We hope that your customer service improves for future travellers.
Good location, tidy rooms, parking available on site. We enjoyed our stay and found that there was plenty within walking distance.

IndiaThe staff, location and facilities were all too good. Menna at reception was so efficient and friendly. Their housekeeping staff are very helpful too. Immediately try to help. Good Cafés and eateries nearby. The gym / sauna-steam room on top floor was very convenient. Loved the accessibility. For travel, you have to walk 10-15 minutes to certain bus stops but the walks were pretty and mostly thru gardens so we liked that.

SingaporeIt would have been nice to have the room cleaned up daily, although I had known before hand that the room would only be cleaned after the 3rd night. The walls were thin, so the noise from neighbouring rooms could be heard.
Location was excellent, we were able to travel to the places of interest easily. Room was spacious and had a nice view of the harbour area, staff at the reception was polite and helpful.

PortugalI was charged for a toothbrush and toothpaste kit, which I found to be quite petty, particularly given the price of the room. It's a bit far from the Opera House (although quite close to the Art Gallery of NSW).
The room was spacious and comfortable, with a working safe, fridge, shampoo and such. I paid extra for the view and it was worth it, I could see the bridge and the tip of the Opera House. I needed to print some stuff and the staff were most helpful. Breakfast was as expensive extra, but very good.
