Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The room was quite dark as it faced into an internal courtyard.
The location of the hotel was great, right in the centre of the old town. The reception and lobby area was very attractive and impressive and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable and the facilities in the room were good and it was very quiet and peaceful despite being in the centre.

The overwhelming smell of fragrance when you walk in . For me it was too much gave me a headache. Shower screen dangerous falling off wall and shower head was extremely hard to adjust water went everywhere.

Air Conditioned didn’t work, I had to open the window and the street was busy all night with loud voices from people passing by.

Room 101 was quite exposed - noise from the reception was a bit of an irritation, especially on the morning when vacuuming began at 6am. There was a short bath with a sit-down shower in the bathroom - not particularly comfortable, or accessible.
Very nice hotel in a good location; lovely interior architecture; staff were helpful and friendly.

Room had a slight musty smell. It was extremely hard for us to access on a market day. Some notice should perhaps be given to those arriving on these days.

Tub and shower, but no shower curtain.
The hotel is in an old abbey, very picturesque. right in the middle of town, but on a quiet side street. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

The beds were a bit mushy - could use new mattress. Also the shower was a bit tricky. The bathroom of the room we stayed in definitely could use an update.
The staff was lovely, very friendly and super knowledgeable and helpful. The building itself was beautiful and perfectly located central to everything.

Hotel lobby is beautiful and promises a lot. The rooms don't quite match up but were fine (I did pay for a slightly larger one as some were very small)
Situated right off the Cours Mirabeau so excellent location for the town. We had the slightly larger room which was fine; bed comfortable and plenty of space. Not much light and noisy pigeons if you kept the window open at night. Only toiletries supplied was shower gel - no shampoo, conditioner, body lotion. Reception staff very welcoming, friendly and helpful.

Tiny room missing a dedicated space to open your luggage. Iron not available in the room and I was told that I need to bring my clothes downstairs to iron them which was a bit weird.

Having to negotiate the short, narrow stairway to our room, especially with luggage. Also, the inner courtyard was full of nesting pigeons…amazingly noisy at 5:00 AM, requiring we close the window at night.
Biggest pluses were location and staff. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious, but a little inconvenient to access, up a short flight of narrow stairs from the elevator. A bonus was the hotel breakfast: in a lovely room off the lobby, higher quality and reasonable priced.

The only thing that was disappointing was being in a room accessed by a few stairs when I had specified no steps due to mobility issues.
