Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe breakfast at 25€ p/p was over priced. We could walk 5 mins to the main street and enjoy similar breakfast for 7.5€ p/p. Also when we booked this hotel, in the description it stated a washing machine & tumble dryer were available. This was not the case which was disappointing. A laundromat was suggested.
The location was excellent. Within easy walking distance to everywhere within the Old City. The room was spacious with great decor. The hotel receptionist was very pleasant and helpful.

United StatesThis Boutique Hotel is located in the center of City Center of Aix de Provence...we explored all the different churches, fountains, museums and restaurants on foot. They have a nice mix of antiques and with mid century modern furniture. Our family felt like we were staying with friends.. Breakfast was a perfect French breakfast..a cheese platter, the most delicious croissants with jam and butter, yogurt, granola and fresh fruit and of course fabulous coffee and fresh OJ... Margarita and Anthony were gracious hosts and went out of their way to make us comfortable. The building is rich in history...

United StatesLiked every aspect!! Easy to get in and out of Aix to make day trips in the area. Parking is a challenge unless you request a space in advance. The hotel happily arranges parking if requested prior to arrival day.
Large room in a villa-like manor house..17th C and glorious. So easy it was to have very good service and imagine living in such comfortable splendor. Breakfasts were an anticipated delight; staff anticipated every need. The owners and staff came close to being like family after 5 days. We shall return. Precious place👏👏Joyce Clark/Ghassan Habib

United KingdomThis is a charming small hotel in the centre of Aix-en-Provence - ideal of walking to shops and restaurants. On arrival we were warmly welcomed by the lovely owners who explained the history of the house and how Pauline Bonaparte the sister of Napoleon Bonaparte had been a frequent visitor. The decor is very unique, stylish and eclectic, with modern art and furniture sitting comfortably alongside beautiful antiques. This ambience is carried through to each of the individually decorated bedrooms. Our bedroom came with a large bathroom with impressive stand alone bath and spacious shower. Our bedroom was beautifully appointed with a large and super comfortable bed as well as a statement large leather rocking chair. We especially loved the gorgeous mix of lighting - from intricate antique glass chandelier in the bathroom to fun modern bedside lights which came to life at night giving the room a lovely cosy yet quirky glow. Breakfast is served in the main sitting room and comes with fresh fruit, freshly squeezed orange juice and delicious croissants and pain au chocolat. We loved our special stay here and would definitely come back.

United StatesStairs, so if your room is on top floor, you have to lug your bags (someone isn’t always available to help). Not a big deal but important to note.
Lovely place. Huge room. Great location. Staff are so accommodating. Can’t say enough kind words. Will definitely stay here again.

PhilippinesNOTHING! Every thing was excellent!
Location was excellent. Can’t get any better. We were in the centre of all activities. The owners of the hotel, Anthony and Margharet , made very sure we were comfortable in our place, attending to every request we made. We mentioned that we did not have English channels in our TV. They bought a new TV for our room with English channels. Can’t get any better hosts than that!👏👏👏👍👍👍🤩🤩🤩

A superb hotel right in the centre of Aix en Provence. Everything is walking distance from the hotel. We stayed in the suite on the top floor which was magnificent with lovely views of the lush garden and environment. Margherita, Anthony and Ines were really welcoming and helpful. MaltaFor the price I believe amenities such as slippers, body lotion and conditioner should be available. I only had shampoo and shower gel. I asked for slippers and the hosts very kindly provided them. Minibar is also empty. And since the hotel only offers breakfast it’d be nice to have a small snacks selection
Wonderful period building beautifully decorated. The property is conveniently located in the center of Aix en Provence. It feels more like an upscale Bed & Breakfast than a boutique hotel. Anthony and Margherita are wonderful and helpful hosts. I was given what I believe to be the best room in the building. Very spacious with Nespresso machine. Lovely spacious bathroom
