How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Road noise disturb sleep. This maybe due to keeping the window open at night.
On the outskirts of Plymouth but close to A38. We were visiting family and it was quick and convenient to get to our destination. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Nothing for this visit, happy with everything.
Friendly staff member on reception. Kids loved the dressing gowns and slippers. Very clean and comfortable.

Air conditioning unit was not working. Room became too hot at night. We were offered a fan on a last night.

The breakfast at £13/head is expensive. However if you use this sevice there is an endless choice and variable taste of food. My wife and I only have a small amount for breakfast so the £13 is expensive for us.
WE have stayed here many times. It represents value for money. WE tend not to use the food services as we obtain our own food in and around Plymouth.

We came from Birmingham as a family of 4, the stay was very comfortable the environment was friendly, we had a lovely stay and will definitely be going to book it again, reasonable priced lovely location.

For someone like me who prefers firm mattresses, the springs in the bed were a bit too soft. The inside of the kettle was burnt. When we reported it, they cleaned it and brought it back, but there were still some burnt pieces remaining
It was very nice of them to leave a note saying that since we didn't want room service on the first day, they could replenish the drinks and snacks when we returned in the evening. Overall, the rooms were large and comfortable. Additionally, it's a great option for those who want to stay at a reasonable price, explore the southern coast, and come back to a peaceful sleep. Especially considering the hotels that charge exorbitant parking fees, we were very comfortable with the free parking.

Breakfast. Cold and waiting plus not much there. When we got down to eat. But staff was very helpful. Trying rushing out food to keep us happy.
Wasn't that good breakfast, we were waiting for a while in line for some of it too come out. The room was great sleeped right few The night. It was only the breakfast, but we understand. That you can't cook too much ,with cost and waste with difficult times..

Lack of range at the bar. Could do with some real ales on a monthly guest ale promotion.
The room was large with air con and very clean. The room amenities were better than I expected with bottled water and a iron that actually worked. (OK previous experience at other hotels). Breakfast had a good range of food which hadn't been sitting around long enough to curl up which is a bonus.

The lack of a fridge in a standard rated room. For important medication storage, ie:- diabetes medicines that needs temperature control. To the choice of having fresh cows milk to soya milk to go with hot beverages. Then being able to keep fresh shop prepared fruit or a treat such as chocolate cool in a small fridge. Really disappointed. On a 1-10 scale, my score is minus 1. It is not as though there is a shortage of power points in the room which is a good thing.
