We didn't like the fact we couldn't get in the champaign bar for a little drink because we didn't make a reservation, although there were many free tables. Not really customer friendly.

Everything was perfect, the facilities and especially the location, right in the middle of everything although very quiet!

Rooms a bit smaller than expected but modern

Central hotel and excellent venue. Difficult to get into the bar as very popular and busy. Rooms very clean and well stocked with complimentary bar and Nespresso coffee.

    I can't fault it.

The breakfast was great, the rooms were modern and clean. The location could not have been better. The stay was more luxurious than I had expected. The staff were lovely and the check in process was easy. Very accessible to public transport links, notably the train station.

Breakfast for a couple - 42 GBP !!!! Too much. Rooms don't have windows (at least in our case)

Location is awesome. Right next to the station and all the popular places are nearby. Complimentary Minibar. That's unusual these days.

Beautiful City Views from a Modern Hotel
    • Leisure trip
    • Couple
    • Double Room - VISTA (free mini-bar)
    • Stayed 2 nights

The room was a touch small, and, were we staying more than 2 nights, we would have started to feel that. Even taking the location into account, it's not a cheap stay.

Tucked in an excellent location next to Waverly Station, Market Street Hotel offers modern lodging with spectacular views of Calton Hill and the Scott Monumnet, in easy reach of the Royal Mile. Extremely comfortable beds (great pillows), well-appointed, and comfortable, our room was lovely. The shower had excellent water pressure.

Nothing not to like but they could include breakfast within the room price. No reason not to.

The Location is amazing, literally opposite Edinburgh waverly station. Beautiful room with fantastic amenities, a very helpful space for changing and keeping the luggage, wonderful bed and a functional TV. Loved everything about the room in this hotel. Even their rooftop space was fantastic with splendid views and the coffee machine/capsules in the room were a bonus too.

The only small negative was the cooked breakfast...unfortunately the sausage and bacon were overcooked. I have to say this was the only minor disappointment.

All staff were pleasant and very helpful. The room was spotless and had all that we required. A great experience!

The view was negligible. The room was on the 2nd floor (3rd floor for Americans) but the view could only be seen by looking up. There was also some garbage that had been thrown down in the area of the view. Also, many of the offered TV channels were not in fact available.

The room was sleek and clean. The bed was very comfortable, the mini-bar was free (!!), the rain shower was fantastic. The room also contained a refrigerator, coffee maker, hot water maker, and a few sweets. The tech was also very good (casting to tv, wifi) and a very cute Roberts radio with bluetooth.

Nice modern hotel, perfect location for a train traveller.
    • Leisure trip
    • Family with young children
    • Double Room
    • Stayed 2 nights

The room was generally great, not that big but given that the location smack in the centre it was fine. Bigger than a budget hotel. The only gripe was that the bathroom had underfloor heating which was set far too hot and there was no way of turning it off. We normally love underfloor heating but it was too much, and we somewhat ridiculously needed the aircon on in the room to counteract it. We informed reception but there didn't seem to be anything they could do about it, no settings they could alter either. Fix that one thing, and all good.

Fabulous location for those (like us) travelling by train. I think 25m from the entrance to Waverley station? And unlike other cities, the station is in the nice historic part. Walk out the door of the hotel and head straight up to the stairs (there are lots in Edinburgh!) to the Royal Mile and castle above you. Really great.
