The room was a bit noisy and the surrounding areas were not the best as there were a lot of drug users around.

A good hostel. The staff was nice, the room was very clean and the bathroom too.

    Mattress wasn't super comfy

The member of staff that showed me around was so lovely! Gave me a tour and showed me where everything I might need was. I felt very welcomed, which was great! Hostel was also very close to the city centre.

Very occasionally there was a noise from plumbing, but nothing too distracting.

I had 4-bunk ensuite room to myself. TV, desk, drawers, hangers. Great for 1. Help yourself all - you-can-eat breakfast was great!

I lived in Plymouth for many years so knew that this is a great central location at the Millbay side of the city. The building has several landings and half-landings, each of which contains a treasure trove of interesting art, books, memorabilia & collectibles. The combined kitchen, dining and lounge area is very spacious & equipped with everything you need and more( inc. some free food), as well as an excellent choice for breakfast, which is generously available for a total of 4 hours. The staff are very helpful and friendly and security of the main entrance and dorms is excellent, with individual door keys. I had an injured wrist and every help was given to me during my stay. I met many interesting fellow travellers and will definitely book to stay here again. A real home from home.

When you flush the toilet in the bathroom attached to the dormitory I stayed in, the pipes make a loud noise for a minute or so while the tank fills up again!

A good hostel with good kitchen facilities and a nice shared lounge and dining room. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice to have drawers by the bunk bed and basic breakfast included.

Beds slightly uncomfortable but forgivable when the price is considered. Couldn't close window properly for fear of handle snapping off.

Friendly staff. Clean, relaxing lounge area with cricket on TV in the morning, big bonus. Room did the job for a one night stay.

The sheets and towels, while clean, smell very strongly of laundry detergent which is slightly off-putting. Perhaps a less strongly smelling detergent would be better.

Very backpacking friendly! The name suits the atmosphere. The staff are so kind, accommodating, and were the best part of my stay. Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate are always available -which is a nice addition. The common area is inviting and warm.

Beds are bunk beds but I did know that before. I had a room for myself that I booked which was brilliant. With 3 other persons in the room it would have been a bit too cozy in the room I guess.

It's a basic breakfast but plenty of it. The common room is nice to sit in. The staff was very friendly (except from this one lady -I always had the impression I disturb her watching TV, but she was helpful as well). Rooms are old but very clean. I also liked the smell of the towels and linens. The location is very good, close to the city centre and a very short walk to Aldi. You can also order Nigerian food at the reception for less money and there is a bar opposite the hostel. Hostel is very cozy inside.

The location although it is only a short walk to all the attractions, the street itself was not the best. You could hear shouting on the streets late at night. But, saying that, I still felt safe in the hostel as the staff were there.

The hostel is homely with lovely pictures, and nice funiture and fittings. The ladies dorm was perfect and only 4 beds. The single room was lovely too with a beautiful writing desk and so clean. All the staff were so kind.. James, the manager was super helpful. Karen and Neil were also great. I felt at home. Free breakfast too! 😊
