Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceIf all the rooms are occupied (12 people), 2 bathrooms can maybe be a bit tricky. A bit noisy but fine.
The room was big enough and clean. Just above a 7elevn which is useful. There are 2 toilets and 2 shower which was fine for our stay. The chocolate of the breakfast was the best we ever had. The washing machine is a big big plus.

MalaysiaThe rooms are a bit small but workable and the walls are quite thin, so you need to be a bit more quiet to be considerate to other holiday goers, the kitchen area has quite a number of ants scurrying around when I was making breakfast
The place has a very cozy feel, especially on the living room area and the staff was kind enough to let me check in at ungodly hours of 3 am. Just drop them a whatsapp message and they can assist you to check in. This was a real plus point for me as I was travelling from Ipoh to KL at late hours to beat the festival traffic. They have a simple free breakfast on toast with nutella with refillable coffee and tea, and the shower room was quite spacious. Location wise it is near to Jonker Street

CanadaMaybe provide more comfortable chairs in the common breakfast area.
The location was great. The host was really amazing, patiently answered all my questions, and even allowed me to check in a bit earlier than the 3 pm. Comfortable place. All around, great experience.

United Kingdomtoo much noise. If they blocked off the window in the bathroom and kitchen it would help a lot and put in a more sound proof door at the entrance as lot of sound comes right in through this.
Place is very clean and comfortable.

South AfricaI expected more for “breakfast” . Perhaps to rather advertise it as tea coffee available with light snack . The pillows were unfortunately very uncomfortable 🥴 The downstairs outside music and eating helped me feel comfortable when I returned late at night, however I couldn’t fall asleep until they closed up.
Room was clean and neat. The place was very cosy. I met some guests and they were pleasant . It was my first Homestay experience so I was apprehensive. I appreciated that I could leave my luggage safely I. The day and return to collect before departing to the bus station. Thank you Caesar.

SwitzerlandLocation a bit far from the center or the bus drop.
Really cozy place. Everything can be done by ourselves: check-in, breakfast, check-out (owner easily reachable by what's app). Simple but good breakfast. Free laundry (wash and dry). Room spacious with water, AC, towels, and hairdryer. Nice common chill place. Great indian restaurant just downstairs in the street.

United Arab EmiratesEntryway is a narrow stairs, no staff in the premises to help carrying heavy n big suitcases. there is only one cleaning guy that goes out after 2 pm. Basically u r just with the room n other guests. No security guards, no reception, no concierge etc. All communication with staff through WhatsApp only. Bathroom is clean but not comfortable. It's the wet type one. Shower n closet all together when in used. U need sleeper to use in the bathroom. Closet n Tissue gets wet everytime someone gets in the shower. There is connected hole as waterway in between bathrooms that makes water runs though bathroom floor when someone get in the shower in the other bathroom . Wear sleeper well if u don't want to get contacts with those water.
We r traveling to Melaka using Intercity Bus from KLIA2 airport cost 30 rm one way. When we arrived in Melaka Sentral we use Grab to reach the Hostel, it cost us 8 rm only. Quite central location. Hostel itself is located on second floor, enter in with a password given before arrival by WhatsApp, entryway is through small door between shops. Love all the white ambiance it's pleasing to the eye , room size is adequate, bed is super comfortable with a crisp bed sheet n cover. Super clean n neat small hostel, even the kitchen is shinny. Have communal small kitchen, washing machine which is very helpful. Wifi is strong in all area, location is good, super close to jonker street area, lots of Asam pedas restaurants nearby and famous Pakistani restaurant in Melaka, there is cheap supermarket called 99 Speedmart at the opposite of the hostel. Quite happy to stay here. Thank you Nest Cove

MalaysiaEarly check out at 11 am. Early quiet time. Not much soundproof rooms but you can expect that from Melaka old shophouse buildings.
Easy check in. Helpful staff. Good location, walkable to hotspot areas but is not exactly within the Jonker and Bandar Hilir areas. Above 7 eleven. Decent facilities like sharing a home with other people.

NetherlandsThe day we left we saw the cleaning staff clean another room. The people clearly checked out. They didn’t change the bedsheet but only used a refresher spray! The sheets we had didn’t smell pretty clean either, but we didn’t make something out of it. When we saw this we were disappointed….
Nice place close to city centre!

NetherlandsOur room didn't have a window so we didn't have any daylight. Some rooms do have it though.
The room was spacious and the showers and toilets clean. There is a self-service breakfast with bread and oatmeal and also tea and coffee. Nothing fancy, but more than enough for the price you pay :) Enough room to relax in the common area after a day in Melaka. It's within walking distance to the city centre and around the hostel there's plenty of eateries to choose from!

Clean, comfortable and well equipped. The room is simple, but good! The common area is nice, and a little social at times. The bathroom is also clean. The staff is not there, but is super easy and fast to reach on WhatsApp, very helpful and super nice! We definitely recommend this place if you are coming to Melaka.

walking distance from the town we saved a lot for taking Grab. easy access and clean. There's laundry machine also which allows us to have clean clothes after 5 days of stay and its for free, its like home where they will provide most of the things so you dont have to buy them all. Great stay.
