How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

After the end of our stay, the hotel charged us for the stay but did not release the funds blocked on our account. Despite our complaints, the funds remained blocked for 2 weeks after departure. Such a situation is unacceptable. Meals could be more refined and varied.
Fantastic location on a headland, wonderful view of the ocean, beautiful garden and the beach next to the hotel, spacious rooms, comfortable parking, staff very nice and helpful (but see below)

It is standard for a 4 star hotel to have kettle and tea/coffee in the room (however, I was informed that kettle is available for a small additional charge).
This hotel is in perfect location for exploring the island if you rent a car. We loved the spacious room (junior suite) with a huge bathroom and the well-kept surroundings of the hotel. Breakfast is always the same but there are enough options for all tastes. We are especially grateful to Marta for her attention and great advice on planning our trips on the island. In short, we loved our stay.

Breakfast food was pretty substandard. Especially after getting used to the wonderful food on the island, highly recommend skipping the breakfast there.
Spacious room and especially spacious bathroom which is nice. Very well constructed property and perfect location on the beach.

some renovations going on upon arrival. very noicy but the hotel fixed it and compensated with a bottle of vine. when you stay for many days even a great breakfast buffet can become "boring". suggest that you make a new items every day. try the nice bar next door.

The pools aren't warmed, at least not in March. The wifi in our room was a bit inconsistent.
The location is key. Right on the ocean. Staff is very friendly. Breakfast is nice.

The shower was admittedly a bit complicated because it had too many massage features, but I figured it out in the end, and am sure you can too!
Second review because I extended my stay to stay longer on the island! I stayed in a senior suite, and it was great. Big, with comfortable couch and a great wrap around balcony. I had views of the ocean every where I looked. I took relaxing baths in the bathtub, and spent a lot of time on the balcony wrapped in a blanket just watching the waves. Would recommend, staff goes above and beyond, you can tell they like their jobs!

The staff were absolutely wonderful, they went above and beyond. They always remembered me, and my room number, and were helpful in finding taxis, and accepting my delayed suitcase. One time housekeeping didnt come in because I had left the do not disturb sign, and they slipped a card in the room saying they had come by. I really appreciated that! You know they didnt just forget. The food was good, and there was a lot of variety, something different every time. I also enjoyed walked around on the grounds, the beach, and used the pool (though only breifly!) I also enjoyed a massage treatment, which they helped me book! I will be back.

We had a 24 hour layover in Azores. We enjoyed the hotel and its location. Stunning ocean views and crashing waves to lull us to sleep. Hotel was sleepy but well staffed and attentive.
