We stayed for one night during the downtime season (March) while things were quieter, and that suited our temperament having just toured the Kumano Kodo Senzan. The owner's concept of this dwelling is to provide a simple and humble beachside retreat in which guests can while the days in relaxed manner. The house has everything provided for, and there are thoughtful personal touches: fresh orange juice from the owner's orchid; a list of recommended places to eat, places to walk the Kumano Kodo Isije route, and other nearby attractions; and books and art adding character to the rooms. The charm is in its very local, low-key, unpretentious, and community feeling.

Great location -- overlooking a little harbor in a small fishing town. We were there in the winter, but had good luck with sunny weather and enjoyed exploring the village. We chanced on the annual Shimenawa ceremony at the Anori-jinga shrine, which brought many of residents of the town together. The house itself is very comfortable, with an open living room and a nice upstairs sleeping space with comfy futons. Fabulous deep tub, with a view. It felt wonderful to have a whole cabin to ourselves. We had a hard time finding the address, but the hosts (although not on site) were extremely quick to help us via Booking messages.

The room was beautiful, facing the ocean, and comfortable. a The staff was very helpful, attentive. Their shuttle to and from the Toba station. the onsen was great

Featuring Japanese-style rooms with sea views and free Wi-Fi, the Nisshokan is just a 5-minute walk from the Meoto Rocks. The hotel houses a shop and drink vending machines. especially loved the breakfast!

Featuring free WiFi throughout the property, 海辺のゲストハウスーぽかぽか村ー is a guest house in Ise, 7 km from Ise Grand Shrine. Free private parking is available on site. Each room has a shared bathroom. The location was really beautiful and the staff super friendly and supporting.

Absolutely beautiful resort on the top of a hill. Amazing ocean views. Tons of stuff for kids like ping pong, games room, even karaoke. Be sure to sit on the open air patio for the ashi-no-yu foot bath. Nice yukatas to wear when you go to onsen. Excellent variety at breakfast buffet. We stayed here after visiting Ise Jingu
