This charming 18th-century guest house is an ideal base for visiting the medieval city of Carcassonne. It offers individually-decorated rooms and a floral garden with a pond and a shaded terrace. Wonderful room in a wonderful traditional building (once you overcome the "street-view-shock": at main road into Carcassonne with a rather "run-down-appeal" from the front); but interior and garden are beautifully refurbished; hosts are extremely friendly and helpful; wonderful breakfast individually served at the table; very good parking facilities within the premises.

We are very happy that we stayed in “La Grande Maison”. It was a very warm welcome. A comfortable bed, quiet in the room, delicious croissants for breakfast. Located 49 km from Termes Chateau, Maison Thérèse by Panorama Locations - SPA privatif is a recently renovated 5-star accommodation in Carcassonne, featuring a garden, barbecue facilities and parking... Stunning and immaculately clean property in a perfect location outside the wall of Carcassonne. We wish we had stayed an extra night! Amenities and fixtures were excellent. Only one toilet in the three-bedroom apartment but two showers. We all had deep sleeps in such a quiet place with super comfy beds. 10/10!

Located in Anduze, within 36 km of Les Grottes des Demoiselles, La tour de Pezene is an accommodation offering quiet street views. The location in the village is great, and the building is lovely with history. The hosts are super.

Set in Cuxac-dʼAude, in a historic building, 21 km from Abbaye de Fontfroide, Villa Maskali is a recently renovated bed and breakfast with an outdoor swimming pool and garden. Benoit and Annie were so hospitable! The house, decor, layout, everything was curated and so luxurious.

Set within 200 metres of Port Avall Beach and 300 metres of Boutigue Beach in Collioure, Les Appartements de Collioure offers accommodation with seating area. Great location, place was very clean and comfortable.

Domitys l'Ostal, a property with a tennis court and a terrace, is located in Alès, 46 km from Pont du Gard, 12 km from La Bambouseraie Botanical Garden, as well as 18 km from The Casino Fumades les... The apartment is inside a retirement home which is a great idea. It features a pool, fitness, restaurant, bar. The apartment was spacious and super comfortable with a huge balcony and a nice view. Even the breakfast is included in the very low price. You can’t find any better at this price. Everything was just perfect.

Le Patio Père Pigne Guestroom in Perpignan provides adults-only accommodation with a rooftop pool, free bikes and a garden. Very quiet location. Sebatien and Michel couldn't have more helpful. The break was fresh every morning, fruit, yoghurt, freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh baquettes and croissants. A little out of the centre, but if you don't mind walking it's great.

Featuring air-conditioned accommodation with a private pool, pool view and a patio, Chambre spacieuse, indépendante, 5mn de la gare is set in Narbonne. Alan was the perfect host and had marked up a map for me with places of interest, recommendations of where to eat, and the best routes into and around the town. The apartment space was generously set out with a smart kitchenette, modern bathroom, and large sleeping and lounge space which were particularly well furnished. There is direct access to an outside space which includes a pool. The location is easily accessible from the train station and is a gentle level walk into the centre of Narbonne. Fresh bread and fruit was left for me each morning with all other condiments readily available in the kitchen including a coffee maker and kettle.
