We completed a 6 day drive on the N2 road from Faro to Chaves and decided we needed 2 nights to relax. This hotel is amazing value and this ancient Roman spa town was worth staying in for sure.Be sure to check out the archaeological dig site in the town museum.

The 3-star Hotel Albergaria Borges provides modern accommodation in Chaves, just 1.5 km from the city. It offers a restaurant on site and is less than a 5-minute drive from Caldas de Chaves Thermal Spa. Incredibly attentive staff. We are travelling with a baby and the staff preemptively helped us all the time without us even asking. They put us in a room at the end of the corridor so we wouldn’t disturb other guests, helped run food to my husband from the restaurant as he stayed in the room with the sleeping baby, and had a table ready for us at breakfast in a separate to the other guests. These actions just took all the stress out of our stay and shows how attentive the staff are to the customers and do things without it even needing to be asked. Thank you so much for the team to make it a hassle free stay.

Overlooking the scenic Douro River Valley, Quinta da Casa Cimeira, Guest House, Wines & Food is set in a historic country house and surrounded by a garden and vineyards. It features an outdoor pool and an on-site restaurant. Absolutely loved it here. 10/10 hospitality and the port is exceptional. Definitely the top place we stayed in Portugal (after 3 weeks of hotels)

The property is around 49 km from Golf Course Vidago Palace, 49 km from Canicada Lake and 12 km from Montalegre Castle. The hotel features family rooms. Arrived super early but room was ready so let me check in. Off road parking within the grounds for motorbike and able to park at rear out of sight although it’s a quiet place, beautiful views, good breakfast and room was very spacious clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful. Nearest super market was around 11km away. Petrol station just up the road and there’s a restaurant around 1.5k or so up the road that does lunch and evening meals.

Situated within 13 km of Natur Waterpark and 37 km of Douro Museum, Casa do Santo - Wine & Tourism features rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Provesende. This farm stay has a pool with a view, a garden and free private parking. The farm stay has a fax machine and photocopier and an ATM machine that guests can use. We had a wonderful experience at Casa do Santo for our 2 night stay. Maria was very hospitable, helpful, and knowledgable. The views of the Douro valley are beautiful. The small, quaint village is a quick drive to the Douro river with amazing views of the hillside vineyards. Breakfast was delicious. We will definitely stay here again when we return to this area.
