The Bridge Tavern, hotel in Wicklow

The Bridge Tavern, a property with a bar, is located in Wicklow, 21 km from National Garden Exhibition Centre, 24 km from Glendalough Monastery, as well as 28 km from Brayhead.

We asked for a quiet room and were warned on check in that it would be noisy until midnight and that there could be some street noise. That wasn't our experience though! There was no discernible noise from the bar and we even slept with the windows open with no disturbance. The beds were comfy, our family room (me and 2 lanky teens) was spacious. The bathroom was spotless. Breakfast was served in booths overlooking the river. The french toast was great, the vegetarian breakfast was awesome. Staff were friendly and attentive.

Horse & Hound, hotel in Wicklow

Horse & Hound is situated in the historic Delgany village at the foothill of the Wicklow Mountains, 22 km from Wicklow Gaol and 18 km from Usher Court Gardens. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar.

The staff who were trying to manage the pub and accommodation at the same time were very polite and pleasant. They did their best to solve our problems with little support from the owners I suspect.

Wicklow is a historic town and still an operating harbour, in the vicinity of the Wicklow mountains. There's plenty of interest in the town, including the harbour area including the Black Tower, and the Old Gaol museum. There's pubs and restaurants to suit most tastes - I ate at the Blue seafood restaurant on the quay and it was excellent. For lighter meals there are cafes, coffee-houses and bakery tea rooms to from hipster to traditional. I busy, fun town.

The view of the Wicklow Mountains, while immersed in nature, an expansive property complete with Llamas, yoga studio, gardens and a peaceful ambiance throughout the building helped me relax after a very long journey. If you're looking for a more holistic get-away this would be the place to go.

    Truly the garden of Ireland.

Truly the garden of Ireland. So much to see and do that I would have needed AT LEAST a week to have seen everything I was interested in. Beautifully kept villages that were spotless and bustling with people. Local people extremely friendly. Can't wait to come back! I can really recommend a cafe 'Turquoise' for veggie or vegans. The amount of options there was amazing and the food was some of the best I've ever eaten. Along with 'The Happy Pear' in Greystones. You def need a car to get around and I can recommend stopping at Victors Way for a bit of a different experience with lots of unique statues.

Wicklow is a quaint place and easy to get around if you park your car and walk. There are interesting shops to be found in the town of Wicklow. The surrounding areas towards the mountains is definitely worth exploring. There are great walks and public transport easy to navigate.

The location is beautiful, the apartment is a tiny lovely place. Perfect size for our two night stay. Very clean. They had it fully stocked which was so nice. Owners just went above and beyond in all of the little details, and we loved it so much. Will definately stay again when we visit and will miss this little boutique apartment. Thank you Mick and Martina for making our honeymoon trip to Ireland a bit more special.

Brand new remodel and super clean. The beds were so comfortable and it was well appointed. Very close to the adorable Wicklow shops and pubs…very close! It was in a very safe area and we loved walking in the afternoons with the locals all out with their dogs, walking to Black Castle or having a pint in the evening. When we had a question about the washer, Graham popped over and showed us how to use it.

The special touches and all the treats and goodies better than a hotel provides and good quality treats and shampoo etc.Small can't really walk to town as a serious hill to walk but taxi are near and pubs and resturants are nit far by taxi fortunately we rented a car and no problem with parking.would definitely come back again for a one or two night stop over .

Amazing cottage, such comfortable bed infact the most comfortable out of all 4 accomodatioms we visited in Ireland. Alan the host, was kind enough to pop by for a chat and gave us some ideas of places to visit nearby that we not have known about otherwise. The Wicklow head walk was breathtaking! Highly recommend this if you need a homey stay in Wicklow!

And it only takes you 5 min to drive into the town center. I am planning to return very soon. Thank you so much for making my stay so comfortable.
