Initially, this hotel seemed a little remote but we came to appreciate being away from the crowded Kawaguchiko. The view of Fuji from the room was a real bonus. Staff were very helpful; breakfast very good. Very grateful to the hotel for minding our luggage on the day of departure.

Very spacious traditional Japanese house, with kitchen, bathroom, spacious lounge. During the colder nights/mornings there were quite some heating options to keep us warm. Great distance from the pagoda and train station to the lakes.

When sunny, the town is very full of tourists. The train/bus station is very small for the amazing volume of vehicles and people that go through. So be prepared for crowded chaos at the station. Get the sightseeing bus pamphlet - this is a local town bus, the pamphlet shows you the attractions- it was handy. Popular attraction ropeway- great - but not remotely accessible- many many stairs and steep slopes. Good restaurant to the right of the exit of the ropeway.

We stayed for 3 nights - perfect for walking to sights like the pagoda, and a full day at Fuji Q. It meant we could choose our day according to the weather when most rides were open. There was a good variety of restaurants in the area, we had an especially good meal in ‘Aio’. Even in low cloud and rain it was interesting to wander round and fall into cafes and we had the pleasure of suddenly seeing the majesty of Mt Fuji when the clouds cleared. Fujiyoshida was a relaxing change to the tourist bustle of Kyoto and Nara which we’d just been to.

I stayed near the Shimoyoshida Station at Asumi Onsen.
I stayed near the Shimoyoshida Station at Asumi Onsen. I am very glad that I did not stay in Kawaguchiko, which is swamped by huge numbers of tourists from all over the world, causing long lines in every store anywhere near the train station. I got Mt. Fuji views from everywhere but my stay was relaxed and amongst the local Japanese, except at the Chureito Pagoda. Mountains and hiking paths were nearby. On my last day, I went to Kawaguchiko Station to pick up a bus back to Tokyo. One look at the long lines and tourists clogging the streets made me certain that I made the right choice to stay away from all that.

Fujiyoshida is a tourist area.
Fujiyoshida is a tourist area. Within half an hour drive around are ropeways, scenic areas, hikes temples and various other activities like quad bike riding, zip line, safari, rides, outlet shopping, etc. You need to be there to know what is there. For example, Mishima Sky Bridge is not just a scenic area but filled with lots of fun activities. A good time to go is to be able to catch the sunset on the bridge against Mount Fuji. Magical.

Fujiyoshida has some great viewing points for Fuji San, the town itself is quiet but has some lovely places to eat. Even though it is so close to the biggest tourist attraction in Japan it doesn’t feel busy with tourists.
Very near to Fujisan station, this hotel has a distinct, attractive exterior that is easy to spot. Rooms were CLEAN. Staff was friendly and accommodating. We arrived 30 min earlier than expected and could still check-in. The rooftop terrace view of Mt Fuji, is available for viewing ALL DAY. Loved the extra amenities and kitchen near the reception. All this for a fair price is a reason to book and stay here again.
Hotel Is located with a superb view of Mount Fuji. The view is simply breath talking and magnificent. Breakfast spread offers amazing view of Mount Fuji with excellent food choices and spread. Hotel and room is very clean and very well maintained. When it comes to food exploration, spoilt for choices with restaurants lining up down the street. Will definitely return if we’re heading to Japan again. Highly recommended!!
This place is an experience! Old place with plenty of history, situated very centrally on the main road of Fujiyoshida. We were told that, Mt. Fuji is even visible from the common room in clear weather.
The shared toilet is very nice. The shared bathroom looked nice, which even had a small board tl reserve a timeslot.
You book this place to experience a real old japanese house. Highly recommended!
The staff were extremely friendly & helpful. Our room was comfortable. We had a private onsen which was so nice to use after a long day of walking. The instructions for the onsen were also super clear and easy to follow. Also, the hotel is located a ways off the main road so it is quiet - which is so nice as the onsen are located on the room balconies. Very relaxing!
Nice hotel. Located about 7 minutes walk from Fuji Q Highland park (from the south entrance which is not the entrance. Officially).
We got a room with an amazing view of Mount Fuji and it was amazing to start the day with this view.
The Wi-Fi in the room is fine, occasionally disconnects.
There is an Onsen in the hotel.
This hotel have the fantastic view of seeing the mount fuji. Not to far to convenient store might need to walk about 5 mins to the nearest convenient store. Near to the train station of Mount Fuji.
Host prepared some bread and coffee for everyone which make me really enjoy the place.
The hotel shuttle took us to and from the resort and the train station.
The authentic clothing (yukata) was a nice perk and added to the relaxation and resort/spa like feel.
We enjoyed the dinner, wine bar, and breakfast.
The check-in and out process was both friendly and efficient.
Had the whole 3 storeys villa by ourselves - with pretty Mount Fuji view at the rooftop 😍 The hotel staffs prepared hot water bath before we check in so that we could enjoy the bath. Very clean villa, spacious, comfortable and have everything we wanted. Highly recommended!
The place was clean and well maintained. I love how i can see the fuji mountain at when I was entering the hotel. There are 2 convenient stores just in front of the hotel and many places to eat near there too. It was quite far from the bus station but not that bad.
We absolutely loved our stay! The host was so helpful, friendly, and accommodating. The space is gorgeous, with an amazing view of Fujisan. I would 10/10 recommend this property to anyone staying in the area. Photos posted are views from the balcony.
amazing little fort in the Fuji area. very close to Fujisan Station, super easy access by train or bus. we traveled with 5 people but the house is very spacious. family-friendly. The owner was also very helpful. I would definitely come back!!
Walking distance from Fuji Q Highland and some small restaurants apart from the one at the hotel itself. The room was clean and comfortable with an amazing view of Fujisan on a clear day. The onsen spa was really nice, as well.
Great location, free parking, staff were super helpful and did their utmost to help my friend who needed a doctor. The private Onsen was fun and great after a long day. We had dinner at the hotel which was great and affordable.
The view from the dining windows were gorgeous. We didn’t have a tour booked, so the hotel staff recommended that we visit the lake and shops near Mt. Fuji. The views were incredible we would have loved more time there.
Best view and really homie . There are 3 rooms and the separate bathroom . Every corners are very clean . Link house near from fujisan station. In the morning i can enjoy your breakfast with best view i ever saw .
Amazing classic Japan experience from the book in high luxury. Good food, super onsen, comfortable large rooms, traditional but also modern eg good WiFi.
