Nan is an interesting town... There are lots of temples and history from when it was a kingdom. I was visiting during the low season, but during my 10-day visit, I could see something every day. But you must realize that this is not a holiday site where you can enjoy daily fun and entertainment.

My first trip to Nan and in fact Thailand. Absolutely incredible experience. Obvious areas were food, scenery in particular the mountain scenes.
The people of Nan were welcoming and very hospitable indeed...and came across as very genuine.
The culture and temples were amazing...visited many temples in Nan and also in Chiang Rai..
Amazing country and Nan is an area I will return to visit again.

Nan is a charming city, which we recommend to discover by bicycle. There are many beautiful temples and a river, which is nice to visit for the sunset. The general atmosphere is relaxed and the people are very nice. The city is not so touristy and you can find many authentic places to eat delicious local food.

I think the environment, the nature, the mountains are just the best part. Not to forget, the culture and the temples are more than worth visits. There are many coffee shops for you to choose from, both touristy and locals, like Erabica (quite fancy, but nice coffee), Huean Tang Tor (still in town of Nan, but further out, real nice place and coffees are from different part of Nan, really good), Kalasino (iron-plate meat grill with great Thai-French Wagyu beef thing... so good).
It was quite cold when we were there that weekend. We went to the night walking street, it was really nice, with local goods and food. Also authentic place for you to sit and eat.
We found it's better to rent a car to go around. You could explore more parts of Nan, into other districts as well.
There are a lot of culture in the city, but you need to get out to touch the nature. Otherwise, renting bicycle would be fine.

Wat Phumin was a big thing and the "whisperer painting" was all over the city. Highly recommend a day trip out to Bo Kleau salt wells and Pua. Enjoy the very local and non-touristy night market and live music at OTOP area.
Excellent host, beautiful location and ambience, great value for money. Really enjoyed our stay here, hanging out in the many cool shared spaces, overlooking the fields, mountains and the not-so-fast-paced village life. Mong is a caring host, providing valuable suggestions to suit specific needs. We even extended our stay by a day and he gave us an excellent itinerary for a 230km (approx) long motorbike route to the north of Nan. Highly recommend staying here, if you don't mind the inconvenience of being a little away from the city.
An exclusive place in the middle of the town of Nan city. The room are full furnished with kitchen outside and BBQ just in front of the Nan river, the receptionist and the owner are very warm welcome... We have been there for a trip with friends, the car are little bit difficult to move in the city, and the owner had gave us a motorbike without charging any cost... We are very happy to stayed at Home Nam Nan.. I really recommend for other guests who are searching for a holiday at Nan city.
Being a family-owned business, the hotel was run by very friendly, accommodating staff. The room we chose was roomy, pleasantly furnished and bright. It could not have been better. The location was also excellent, close walking distance to several beautiful wats, a national museum, and restaurants. A warm breakfast was served, buffet style - eat as much as you want with a nice selection of seating outdoors.
I loved the relaxed atmosphere in Nan and staying at this place was a great experience. The property is charming and only 5 minutes walk to Wat Phumin and 5 minutes the other way to the river. Staff very friendly and helpful. Thank you so much. Rooms are spartan but matched the simple homestay vibe that was so enjoyable. Hope to return.
Beautiful and peaceful setting along the river not too far from Nan town but feels worlds away. A great place to escape chaos and slow down. Kayaks available for paddling on river nearby and taking a dip when water level is safe. Staff are so kind and eager to please.
The place is a short drive to/from the airport which is also walkable. The room was clean and cosy wth a fridge, water bottles and all amenities.
Overall, I had a good sleep here and would definitely consider this place if visiting Nan again.
Great location. Walking distance to Wat Pumin and the Nan National Museum. You can find the cafe shops which offer high quality coffee. One staff speaks English, and all of them are attentive. The room is clean.
The hotel was fancy. The location was superb. The food was ok. The decoration was fun. There were some shops near by at the entrance. You could walk directly to the hot tourist spots in town. Enjoy the stay.
Peaceful farming view and natural surrounding. Staffs are friendly and welcoming. Mattress is good compared to other hotels. Overall suits for those who really like peaceful living in Thai style room!
very clean, hot showers, privacy curtains for the bunk beds, free coffee and tea and bananas and free bikes to use! the staff are very kind. lovely place
