We had both room with the balcony facing the cathedral and room facing the other side to the palace. Both rooms are very specious and excellent for the couple. The room facing the palace has amazing view from the room and the bathroom. The hostel itself is located at the very heart of the tourists area, close to everything. Just a few minutes walking to trail station, with pubs all around. The property itself has very specious areas to hang around, kitchen and sitting areas. Thy provide laundry services at merely 5 euro for a sack of clothes which is ready in a few hours. Great option for travelers and hikers! Strong Wifi, bar w/ beer and soft drinks for excellent prices. You can request to have a basic but very sufficient breakfast for almost no money! This is excellent place to stay in Porto

I had so much fun I came back because it feels like a family :) Can't wait to be back again!

The House of Sandeman - Hostel & Suites is located in Vila Nova de Gaia, within the historic building of the Port Wine Cellars of Sandeman. With scenic Porto and Douro River views, this riverfront property also provides guests with a restaurant. This is the best hostel i have been to. And i have done two interrail trips around Europe, probably visiting at least 30+ hostels. The location is wonderful, everybody in the staff is super nice, they have all the things you need at a good backpacker hostel, great breakfast and great dinners at affordable prices.

Never seen a hostel as clean as this one. Very centrally located.
