It's not often you get to stay in a one-month old hotel, but this one is brand new (late September-early October 2022). It is hidden away on a side street in a small forgettable village, which keeps it quiet at night. It's all new and absolutely spotless, and includes a nice spa and wonderful sauna and two hot tubs on the ground floor, and access across a lawn to a 7-pool swimming and hot spring water resort (which is not new and is shared with an adjacent camp ground). Rates include dinner, and the wine list is quite reasonable and includes some wines made in the same and in the next village. Both dinner and buffet breakfast were good if not quite gourmet. Staff was very pleasant and helpful, all bilingual in Hungarian and German. (Don't know about English because I speak both Hungarian and German, never tried English).

The staff was very friendly and hepful from the arrival to the check-out. We left the hotel feeling like we were visiting family. ❤️ The breakfast selection was very good, tasty and served to the table in the cosy ambient of the rose garden. The food choice was very diversified, with fresh vegetables and fruits and in the right amount.

In addition, the hosts were personable and on the night we had dinner at the hotel, the food was fantastic. The Sopron Monastery Hotel is located in garden part the city, surrounded by forests and on top of a hill, offering an excellent panorama. The property is 3.5 km from the center of Sopron. The hotel is a beautifully renovated monastery with a lot of modern elements. While the breakfast is in the baroque refectory, there are modern meditation rooms with fridges where you can grab some wine or coke. The location is next to the forest, with beautiful sunsets in the small park attached to the hotel. The staff is super friendly, explains a lot and gives a lot of tips. Very recommendable! We will definitely be back!
