Our 9 days stay in Santi Garden bungalows was absolutely amazing The bungalow had enough space for the 3 of us, the veranda with the hammock was perfect to relax and admire the views to the sea and Rubiah island.The feeling of staying in the jungle listening the birds and watching the monkeys was a unique experience. The location was perfect just 5 minutes walk to the village of Ipoh, and Olala restaurant. next to the hotel had nice reasonable priced food and marvelous views Santi was really helpful answering all our questions before our arrival and giving us helpful information during our stay Robi was also always around to help and arrange everything we needed We will always remember these kind people who made our stay to the beautiful island of Palaw Weh the best experience we had in our 2 months trip in Malaysia and Indonesia We'll soon come back!!!

Sam's Bungalows has a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Bukit Lawang. The accommodation features room service, a tour desk and currency exchange for guests. Our stay at Sam's was unbelievable. Sam was able to arrange transport for us (to and from the airport) and also a 2Day 1 night jungle trek with local tour guides, which was absolutely amazing. The food in sam's restaurant was delicious and very well priced. All of the staff went over and beyond for us at every point during our stay. The staff truely are jungle lovers and have such love for spotting animals/insects and birds! We even spotted an orangutan while we were having lunch there! Rooms had everything you need, hot water, wifi, clean and comfortable beds with a hammock outside on the balcony to watch the river and jungle! Such an amazing experience and would highly recommend!

Used hotel's guide to do a jungle trip he was very helpful and found lots of animals not just orangutans. A great trip.

If you want to have a good time and SEE ORANGUTANS this is the place, the team (we had two guides) knows the place like the palm of their hand, they split and search, thus, 2x chance to see orangs!! I consider this an unbeatable technique. While on our tour, we met some people that told us they saw 2 orangs in 2 days, a couple that saw 1 in their whole tour, we saw 8 orangs in just 6 hours or so!! first we saw a teen orang that started following us from the tree tops, then we crossed paths with a mama orang and her baby orang, then a single male adult, then a couple male-female, one more young adult and, THIS IS THE BEST THING THAT HAS HAPPENED TO ME IN A LONG TIME, we were tubing back down the river to the guest house and we saw this HUGE orang, it looked almost 2m and like +200lbs Breakfast was good, super good KopiSusu, omelette, banana pancakes, everything was delicious!
