I would like to thank Mario our host that took extremely good care of us: he assisted our arrival on the island and then walked with us around showing the Inca ruins (an unique experience no tour will do) and then came with us to the new boat pick up point. Before finishing this review, I would like to stress that this property is a true experience of life with the community on Taquile island. Please do not book here if you look just for classic tourist hotel style because this is NOT what you will find. A few suggestions for prospective travelers: - bring with you a disposable battery for phone cause in the island there is no classic electrical outlets in the homes - ask Mario to give you contacts for booking speed boat tickets (kollasuyo agency) cause all the tour are 1 day and is difficult to find the way back - enjoy the spirit of taquile and its community with no Wi-Fi with an open mind We truly loved this experience, chatting with Mario and his wife and eating with them. Beautiful island and the accommodations were comfortable! Very cool experience getting to stay with the family and learning more about life on the island. Edwin was super helpful and caring so I could arrive the accomodation without any problem. Views were astonishing and the peace was out of this world. Food was nice too. They gave me a better room than the one I booked because they had it free for that night.

Featuring lake views, Richar’s home - experience Amantani with my family in Amantani features accommodation and a garden. I absolutely loved ,my stay with Richar, Lucrezia and their daughter Isabel. They made me feel so at home. I loved my very clean room with a spectacular view of the lake from a few windows! Also there is a balcony to hang out and lake/star gaze. IT is incredibly peaceful there. The food was delicious, home made and very healthy. I loved eating with the family. My spanish is not very good but I was able to communicate well with them and Richar taught me some important Quechua words and I learned a lot about their community. Richar also showed me around his garden and he explained what crops he is growing. I met his chickens, guinea pigs and sheep. Their daughter was a fantastic guide and took me to the beach and we walked up Apu Pachamama together which was very special. It was a very memorable experience and I will definitely come back! One thing is that the village is on the other side of the Island from where you come in by boat. I rode on the back of a motorcycle for 20 minutes to get there! It was a thrill and a beautiful way to see more of the island!

Inca lodge - Amantani is located 37 km from Puno Port in Amantani island. Featuring a restaurant, the property also has a terrace. Every room includes a balcony. The accommodation is located in the community on the opposite side respect where the boat from Puno arrives. That's permitted to be the only tourist in this side of the island during our stay. You have to consider 20 soles per person to reach the accommodation from the pier with a motorbike. Otherwise you need at least 1 hour and 30 minute of walk. The host family is amazing, Justa prepared delicious meals and joined us for a while for the walking up to pacha mama on the top of the island. Amantanì is magic, it is a rural island surrounded by the lake. Stunning scenario where to relax and take great pictures. The night sky from the house is unforgettable.

Featuring a bar, Posada de Oliver features accommodation in Llachon. This beachfront property offers access to free WiFi and free private parking. This was a perfect stay. Oliver, Sebastiana and their children are a lovely family who you instantly feel at home with. The room we had was spacious, private and had a beautiful view of the lake. Hot water and WiFi worked amazingly for the area and the food provided (for an extra cost, but really good value), was very tasty and varied. There are a few walks to do in the area to keep you busy, and Oliver can also take you out on his boat to some of the local islands and to see the trout farm he runs (again, for an extra fee but for what you get, we thought it was really good value for money. You have to remember you have the boat completely to yourselves and there were no other tourists on the floating island we visited, making the experience very authentic). There's a really nice outdoor seating to enjoy the sun and view. Getting there is also very easy with collectivos going regularly from Puno and Juliaca for next to nothing.
