Ocean Shores is completely unremarkable! The entire area is flat & sandy - that's about it! The restaurant we ate at was nothing special. The Weatherly Motel was a HORRIBLE DUMP! The beach was just a beach - not as scenic or interesting as Seaside or Cannon Beach (or most any beach on the Oregon coast). There really wasn't much of anything to do or see compared to any of the Oregon coast towns...or Astoria. Ocean Shores is a bit cheaper but you definitely get what you pay for in this case... If you want beautiful coastal scenery, architecture, history, people watching, shopping, a variety of great dining options & activities, drive the extra 100 miles south. There are just TOO MANY better options! I live in Washington State, but I'll NEVER go to Ocean Shores again!
Gorgeous town - comfortable, great sights and hipster chic shopping. Loved the art and design of the area. A great alternative to Seattle - gave us a much better impression of Washington state.
There is so much to see and do...in the city as well as the outskirts. The food was fabulous. My favorites were Staple & Fancy and How to Catch a Wolf. Make sure to do a ferry to one of the islands. Vashon and Bainbridge are very nice. We even had a chance to visit the Washington State Fair. Next trip will be more mountain ranges and islands. The very best...seeing Mt. Rainier in her glory EVERY day. Just breath taking. The Cascade and Olympic mountain ranges are fantastic. This is a place to return to!
We only used Seatac airport for arrival and departure into the North West of the United States. By using the Interstate 5, which we found to be well signed, we soon left the busy city behind us and enjoyed the natural wonders of Washington State and Oregon.
Wenatchee is in a beautiful part of Washington State - very picturesque with the mountains nearby and a river running through it.
Yakima doesn't quite live up to the billboard along the freeway, "The Palm Springs of Washington." That being said, they must have the best Chamber of Commerce on this particular planet. Yakima has its own Triple A baseball team and professional basketball team. They have half the State Fair grounds...split with Puyallup, I guess. They have the Eastern Washington State fair, complete with horse racing. They have an 1/8th mile dirt car racetrack. There are nice restaurants uptown...nice houses too. A decent mall & 1/2. Even a Cabelas! If you have a big sports event, or you are competing in Amateur Athletics or Odyssey of the Mind and end up in regional championships; or going to a big regional conference, the chances are better than 50/50 you will end up in Yakima. I don't really know why, but there is a lot going on here!
Leavenworth is a Bavarian-themed village on the east side of Steven's Pass, about two hours east of Seattle. It has a quaint touristy character with German and Austrian themed shops and restaurants and numerous beer and wine shops. It was fun to stroll the downtown and stroll through the shops. This would be a great place to include as an overnight stop if you are travelling through Washington State. Check out the Snowy Owl Theater at the Icicle Creek Center for the Arts. It is a fantastic mid-size venue.
Seattle is a big City on the west coast of America in Washington state. It has a wonderful market and many shops like most other big cities. The public transport is very good and reasonably priced. Excellent views from the space needle. Possibly the Aircraft Mecca of the world if you are so inclined.
Pullman is my hometown, so I may be a bit biased, but it truly is a quiet and beautiful oasis in the rolling hills of Eastern Washington. No matter the time of year, you can have an excellent experience, whether it's driving out to see the spectacular Palouse Falls, climbing to the top of Kamiak Butte for a spectacular view of the surrounding wheat fields or just wandering around the Washington State University Campus, taking in the iconic architecture, both old and new. No visit is complete without a trip for a burger and shake from Cougar Country (a Pullman institution), but make sure to also check out Black Cypress - you won't be disappointed. For drinks, Rico's is a must as is newcomer Etsi Bravo, especially if you love a good cocktail.
We went to Anacortes to go on a whale watching trip, which was the highlight of our trip. Would definitely do it again. We walked the loop in the Washington State Park which also very nice. Great places to take photos.
Reception was friendly, insuring we had everything we needed. Room/Facilities were very clean and well-decorated; building was renovated last year. Continental breakfast had a lot of variety. // We took the public bus, #140, to get to and from the Washington State Ferries harbor. The bus stop was about a five-minute walk from the hotel. Cost $1.00! Fidalgo Bay estuary was about a 10-minute walk from the hotel. It has a signed-walking/bicycle path. Very beautiful.
Outstanding, Beautiful, Elegant!!.. Nothing else like it on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington state… or just about anywhere else!! Great staff! They were courteous..patient… kind… accomodating.. professional.. Facilities just breathtaking.. Comfort was amazing. Decorated with a stunningly BEAUTIFUL Pacific Northwest native American art collection from The People.. Everything they do is elegant! Everything is the highest quality ! This is no ordinary hotel!!
It was nothing to brag about. The lighting is horrible and cheap. I know you guys don't exactly have a bunch of wealthy staying there. If you want to experience an amazing set of hotels, you guys should visit Tulalip. It's flawless. The furniture and everything else is alright. But Washington state is such a 30 year behind the times place, i guess it doesn't matter. When you're at Tulalip, it makes you forget you're here.
Every evening, we watched the sun set over the water and fell asleep to the sound of waves lapping against the side of the hotel. Doesn't get better. More importantly, the staff were wonderful -- impeccably courteous -- and I mean everyone. This has got to be one of the best hotels for the money in Washington State. I highly recommend it.
Puyallup
I've encountered two staff members at the front desk throughout my stay. Both of them are very friendly. The bed feels better than expected considering the price. Free Wifi is available with broad xfinitywifi coverage. Less than 10 minutes walking distance to Washington State Fairgrounds.
Friendly staff at Front Desk and hotel staff in Housekeeping and at Breakfast area. Very clean comfortable rooms. Delicious hot breakfast with variety for all guests. Fitness center and indoor pool & spa. We look forward to staying again when we are in Washington State. Thank you.
The location, comfortable rooms and extraordinarily friendly and helpful staff made this hotel a fabulous place for a family of seven to enjoy Seattle and time together. The view of the waterfront from the lobby and restaurant is fabulous.
clean, smelled nice, quiet and gave a tranquil like vibe.
This was amazing weekend for me and my husband the rooms were very nice and clean and the breakfast was amazing you're right on the ocean and you can't beat the price for a great weekend the outside of the building needs a little updating but that's to be expected when you live by the ocean and seagulls are always on top of your roof but the front desk people were amazing
Very spacious & clean room with a great view of Padilla Bay. Especially loved that we could open the sliding doors for fresh air…
The 2 bed suite was huge! We liked the ocean view, the fake fireplace and seating area, and the layout of the suite. The beds were extremely comfortable. It has many vintage features which we enjoyed, but which might not fit all visitors.
We always enjoy meals at Packers. The pizza was a really fine surprise. The women who waited on us were wonderfully patient with us 80 plus year olds.
Everything!! Beautiful and fun!!! Great value for money.
It is really close to tourist and kids attraction. Also, few miles to businesses like Mc Donald, movie teather, stores like Generall dollar, ACE Hardware, beaches.
The assistant manager (can't recall his name) remembered me at check in because I had a couple questions prior to arriving.
The food is good and the spa is great. I like the bedroom and mini golf was awesome!! The pool was fun to be with I had fun going underwater and counting seconds of how long we stayed underwater the fitness room was fun to lose weight at the gaming room was exciting I get to interact with my best friend on the cell phone and the games were fun!! The whole vacation was fun!!! For the whole family!!!! We definitely will come back in the future.
Lovely Hotel high up in mountain with fantastic views, walks, cycling, paddle/Kayaking facilities and more
Relaxed atmosphere, good value for money
