Cleaning of the room, especially under the beds. Growling and trailing nosie woke us up every morning at approx 6 o'clock. Continued for some minutes. Was not a truck/car on the outside. Bed side tables missing. Some more hangers for clothes needed.

Very friendly and service minded staff. Excellent breakfast with good variety. Extra plus for the gluten- and lactose free alternatives. Location in the very center of Jakobstad. Easy access to free parking.

Generally speaking I like old things and historic buildings. However, instead of being sympathetically shabby this place is just dismal and hopelessly inaccessible by modern standards. In case you are young and able it may be ok as a one night budget option but only just.

The guesthouse is perfectly located in the heart of the town on the pedestrianized main street. Actually it’s not a building of its own but an attached wing of the old city hotel (Stadshotel). Staff was helpful and the room quite spacious with a renovated bathroom but unfortunately the positive sides end pretty much there.

The guesthouse part of the hotel is older than the rest, with outdated equipments (bathroom, TV, no kettle, old bedding covers). It feels a bit overpriced. The staff gave us very little indications about our room and how to access the building late in the evening.

The beds are good, the location great, breakfast is fantastic with a large selection of food.

The room was very old (but clean) and the toilet was very small and did not even have a shower curtain so the whole bathroom got wet when I showered. Also it could use a fix, it has green walls and the bedroom is also not so nice, really old and worn out.

Some furniture was a bit worn out in our otherwise modern room, but we had information about that in advance and that was also taken consideration in the lower price.

Nice location in the middle of the town center, in a historic house. Very affordable price for spacious rooms. The staff was friendly and welcoming.

Good atmosphere, needs a facelift

Whilst we did expect more basic accommodation at the guesthouse end of the hotel, the rooms were rather shabby and cleaning could have been better (especially under beds). It tended to be very noisy at night, often with motor bikes racing around and revving engines until late. From 5am delivery vehicles arrived, leaving their engines running constantly. On Saturday night the noise from the nightclub below was unbearable, especially around 1.30am but continuing until 4.30am.

The location was very convenient. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed excellent meals in the restaurant.
