If you are planning to visit the main D-Day spots at Utah, Omaha Beach, etc you should take Domaine Airborne as your main operations camp. This place is unique in Normandy, next to the "D" landing spot of the 101st Airborne Division, you will feel in the middle of the battlefield. This place was used as shelter by german soldiers before the D-Day landing and has been visited by famous 101st airborne veterans. The breakfast is delicious and the rooms are extraordinarily decorated. The owner will give you plenty of recommendations of places to visit and organize your trip. He has many "special" stories to tell if you are truly interested in II World War history. One last thing, before you visit Domaine Airborne, do not forget to watch "Bands of Brothers", you will understand why! Do not miss this place or you will regret!

L'Escale de Broglie is situated in Broglie and features a heated pool and pool views. It is located 30 km from Basilica of Lisieux and provides room service. The room was bright and airy, beautifully appointed (including a fridge and microwave) with a super-comfy bed that included three types of pillow. We enjoyed a swim in the little pool and slept well in this old maison de maitre in a quiet street. The owners are very accommodating when it comes to animals. Lovely place to stay!

Set in Saint-Marcel in the Normandy Region, 47 km from Rouen and 9 km from Giverny, Le Jardin Des Erables features a sun terrace and views of the garden. Maryla and Gilles are wonderful hosts. Their home is surrounded by lovely gardens and trees. Our room and bath were large and beautifully decorated. Breakfast included a mouth-watering offering of local specialties, fresh fruit and homemade jams.

Offering a garden and garden view, Alex Guest House is located in Dozulé, 12 km from Cabourg Raccourse and 12 km from Cabourg Casino. Alex is a helpful, kind and extremely welcoming host. The place is in a great location, very well presented and Alex provided us with excellent recommendations around the local area. We highly recommend staying here.

Le Jardin des Poules is set in Thietreville, 39 km from Honfleur and 37 from Veules-les-Roses. The centre of Fécamp is 13 km away and Étretat is 27 km from the property. Rooms have a flat-screen TV. The “chambre”” is large, airy, full of light and decorated with taste. Its annexed spaces are well organised and equipped. The bathroom is very large and comes with a nice window. All the spaces are kept spotless. WiFi connection is fast and reliable. The house is set in a cosy quiet village and is just 15 mins drive from the coast: Fecamp and Etretat are easy to reach. Our landlady, madam Nicole, was very caring, helpful and extremely kind and prepared a fantastic breakfast.
