Rooms at the Quinta feature a rustic-style décor with old wooden beams and handmade tiled floors. Each room has its own entrance and a private bathroom. Breakfast was delicious, the hosts provided various kinds of dark bread (when they learnt we are from Germany) apart from home-made jams and cakes. As we had to stay another night because of the ferry, they very kindly offered us a different room. If you are interested you can learn a lot about social and cultural life in the Azores, the host is a mine of information!

With its privileged location on Angra’s Main Square, the Azoris Angra Garden – Plaza Hotel is well-positioned to explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Renovated in June 2018, the property is framed by the Municipal Gardens featuring a bar and a panoramic terrace. The hotel is located right on the main square and a few mins walk from the harbour. The basic room is nice but a bit small. The staff is excellent and I found them to be very welcoming and attentive both at the reception and the restaurant. I had early morning tours and the hotel kept a nice food packet ready for me and added an egg as per my request. Overall highly recommended for a stay at Terceira.
