Beautiful building lovingly restored. Rooms very spacious and very comfortable. Hosts were charming and were obviously proud of their business and home.
Food was very good too.

We were only there for one night, but we’re recommended the Globe for a meal, and it didn’t disappoint, on the way we dropped in at the Annan distillery well worth the £25 tour and the driver gets his or her tasting pack to take away with them.

We called in to a few pubs and the locals were all very friendly and chatty even to us English ha ha. The town was clean and we had a nice walk across the river along a park then back again. There was plenty of places to have a drink. We only went for the football at Queen of the South and I would go there again given the chance.

I visited with my young grandchildren to attend the Wigtonshire Book Festival which was a great success, as was the accommodation.
However on the Sunday evening, after the Book Festival, There was nowhere suitable available in Dumfries to take three children for an evening meal before travelling home to Stirling. Quite disappointing.

I was only there for 2 days, for a Watercolour workshop, so unfortunately didn’t have much time for sightseeing, but it seems a very historic and interesting town
Ate in the Bistro restaurant at Crichton
The location was near the train station and 5 minutes walk from the town centre. A lovely river walk took you into town if you wanted a longer walk along the river into town. Free parking was available at the side of the hotel,
Lovely bedrooms, clean, well equipped with TV, tea and coffee machine etc. with a large ensuite shower room.
Breakfast was excellent in both quality and value and the staff were happy to give information, and recommendations of places to see and visit.
Stayed with friends as we had a wedding nearby. Rooms where immaculate, bathrooms where spotless. I travel for work & stay in lots of hotels, this was different there was character & both of the owners where just lovely- even asking if we needed them to drop us at the wedding venue. Nothing was a problem for them al all. Really couldn’t recommend enough, was sad to leave! Oh also, breakfast was delicious, a great bonus!
The hotel is in a good location for a stroll into Dumfries, easily found and there’s loads of free parking (cars & bikes)
The rooms are large & spotless, the hotel has loads of character and everything was Covid secure.
Terry & Lynn are the nicest hosts in the world - nothing is too much trouble, they are really friendly & knowledgeable about the area.
The breakfast was brilliant.
We will be back.
Stayed in a family room which was reasonably spacious, comfortable, clean and quiet. Selection of teas, coffee, hot chocolate and some biscuits in the room which was also equipped with hairdrier, iron etc.
Staff were all really friendly.
Buffet breakfast was decent quality and nothing ran out.
Lots of parking out the back of the hotel.
About a ten minute walk into the centre of Dumfries.
Hotel is a little dated but that does not stop it being an excellent choice. Location is brilliant just five minutes walk from the station and all Dumfries attractions are within walking distance. Breakfasts are excellent. The restaurant in the evening is very good value for money. Not a wide range of choice (A meat dish, fish dish and vegetarian) but what they have is well cooked and delicious
This hotel is just what we were looking for - something traditional, pretty, cozy and with a pub as part of it. It was very comfortable and attractive, and the young gentleman manning the bar did a great job. Our room was very quiet and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was also quite good and the lady we spoke with that morning was very pleasant. Plenty of parking space for the car as well.
We had a wonderful stay here and would highly recommend this hotel. The owners go above and beyond to welcome you and make you feel at home. The rooms are well appointed and the beds are very comfortable. The breakfast is one of the highlights. We look forward to returning for more than one night next time.
Woodland House Hotel was lovely. The staff were friendly, welcoming and nothing seemed to be too much for them. We had dinner, and it was excellent. The menu was wide and varied. The room was great with a nice roomy bathroom. We would definitely go back if visiting the Dumfries area.
The room was amazing and so big, the bed was massive. The hotel was right in the middle of town and close to all amenities.
Great place a bass to travel around &Dumfries and Galloway.
Will definitely visit again.
The owner was such helpful and nice chap.
We always enjoy everything about our stays at Woodland House Hotel. Our room was perfect for us, breakfast excellent and service with a smile, a chat, and however much time you want to spend there eating. No pressure in vacating the table
Located in the heart of Dumfries, the host was very organized and access to the room was easy. Our stay was short so we didn’t have time for breakfast, but the room had lovely flowers and we were very comfortable there.
This hotel has a great team in the kitchen and the dinner and breakfast was delicious. The setting for the hotel is brilliant and if you're into Robert Burns, this is definitely the best place to stay in the area!
Everything was perfect. I travel for work all over Scotland, and this is easily one of the best I have stayed at. I do not often leave reviews but this place and it's owners are top drawer
Only situated about half a mile from Dumfries town centre on a main road, so walking to and fro was easy.
The breakfast was really good and great value for money.
