This place is like a home from home. very relaxed, not too many guests and great for working. Lovely pool and places to laze. I liked it that they offered meals as a choice, which meant not having to go out to restaurants. Room was huge and comfortable, with everything one could need.

The hosts Mirella and Josian (and family) were an absolute delight.On day 1 when I arrived without food Josian took me to the large Jumbo Supetmarket a few Kms away in his van to stock up.Also on Saturday I was invited to a family New Year,s Party.I was made to feel included without my privacy being compromised.
The apartment was wonderful,large and airy with nice little touches such as an umbrella.The fridge and microwave worked well and there was always hot water in the shower.
There is a basic food and drink shop available 1 minute across the way.The property is very safe and I didn't, feel uncomfortable wandering around,but there were one or two characters around who could easily be avoided.
Breakfast was delivered to the room at a time to suit by Mirella.There was always a variety of fruits and a large baguette with a range of spreads.Tea and coffee was also provided in the room.
Transport to Port Louis and the coastal beaches are regular and from a very nearby bus stop
All in all an unforgettable experience

We hired a taxi to take us up to the Citadel and around the city. It has some interesting colonial buildings. We arrived at Port Louis at the end of our cruise - the apartment was not far from the port. We used the same taxi driver to take us up the Northern Beaches (well worth visiting) and he also drove us to the airport for our flight to Dubai.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Champs De Mars Apartment during my recent short visit to Mauritius, and I can't say enough good things about it! From the moment I stepped inside, I was captivated by the charming and cozy atmosphere that this apartment offers. First and foremost, the location is fantastic. Situated right next to the iconic Champs De Mars Racecourse, the apartment offers stunning views and a unique atmosphere that you won't find anywhere else on the island. It's also conveniently located near shops, restaurants, and public transportation, making it easy to explore all that Mauritius has to offer. Moreover, the apartment's security was excellent. The apartment itself is impeccably clean, well-maintained, and beautifully decorated. The interior design is tasteful and modern, providing a welcoming and homely ambiance. The spacious living area is perfect for relaxation and entertaining, and the kitchen is fully equipped with all the amenities you need to prepare your own meals if you wish. One of the highlights of the Champs De Mars Apartment is the balcony, which overlooks the racecourse. The breathtaking views of the races and the lush greenery are truly a unique experience that adds a special touch to your stay. The host, Adam is incredibly accommodating and friendly, always ready to assist with any questions or requests you may have. Traffic in Port Louis is very busy so allow extra time if you need to travel anywhere. You will need consider this when ordering a taxi. There was nothing open near the villa to walk to besides the beach/boat dock area. This was cleaned everyday by the local authority and included toilets.

We stayed in Port Louis for 2 last days in Mauritius. It was wrong. In fact it was enough to visit it for 1 day somewhen in the middle of the trip. Not so much to see there. Water front is beautiful but it is for couple of hours. Peoplel say about Central market but as for me market in Mahebourg is better. So definetely it is worth to visit but without great expectations.

I love the old part of Port Louis at the foot of Signal mountain. Just get a car and go around the little streets looking at the few remaining old colonial houses. Of course do the tourist sites too...
