I was in Phoenix for GCU’s graduate school commencement and I was blown away by how beautiful the city is. I found myself staring out the window during landing because I saw the most serene clear blue skies and orange hills/mountains. The city had this tint over it, not in a sense of pollution but, a tint that reminds you of a peaceful dream. Each person I came across, from the airport customer service representative to my Uber driver. Everyone was so nice and jovial. Phoenix is as beautiful as it is hot. If you’re visiting in the summertime, please pack your sunscreen, handheld fan, comfortable clothes and water. We never left the resort...and why would we! Everything we possibly could have wanted was right there. We had brought along cards and various board games, snacks and water to have in our room, Of course, the company (my children) was outstanding! This is a fantastic resort that has courteous and attentive employees. The grounds are immaculate, and the villas are extraordinary. My family had an absolutely amazing time. Staying in a spotless, impeccably decorated, large villa, with enough space to play games, cook, or watch a movie (all while another person took a nap) made for the perfect little vacation. We loved the water slides and lazy river. My highest recommendation goes to the Arizona Grand Resort and Water Park!Temple-Kissel - 8.0Scored 8.0

I wanted to be near Mermaid Maid stadium - it was great, less than 10 minutes walk from hotel. Reception staff were helpful and friendly BUT my Hilton points did not get credited - strange. Will log missing points with Hilton. We were entertaining grandkids so looked for activities that they would enjoy. The Arizona Boardwalk was an excellent choice. There were a lot of activities if a little expensive. The Organ Stop in Mesa was a major hit with our kids. A bicycle ride along a desert trail yielded some spotted wildlife. The kids enjoyed seeing a roadrunner and a rattle snake especially. Traffic is horrible but I was expecting worse. The water park was also a big hit. It is connected to the Hilton resort.

Downtown has been under road construction for years.
Downtown has been under road construction for years. Parking and navigation are a nightmare. There is a homeless problem. I was approached by aggressive panhandlers continually. Uncared for mentally ill people wander this area in large numbers. Parking and hotel rates are now unaffordable. Surrounding areas such as Flagstaff and Anthem are much more comfortable and safe.LeeUnited States

Location is perfect right in the heart of Phoenix downtown. The fitness center is limited but clean and with modern equipment which is enough to satisfy your working out needs. Staff was friendly, helpful and there is self parking option although the parking is located in a different building close to the hotel. We arrived very late due to a flight delay, but the gentleman on reception was more than happy to deal with us, and seemed legitimately interested to speak to us (we discussed the music scene in Sheffield, UK!). The room was fantastic with lots of quirkly features, but more importantly, a very comfy bed! Had the most delicious coffee from the cafe on site in the morning. Such a lovely place to stay! My partner and I highly recommend the Egyptian Motor Hotel!
