The Alverton is perched on the outskirts of Truro city centre. A magnificent, grade II listed building steeped in history, boasting original architecture dating back to the nineteenth century.

It was one of the best B&B I have ever stayed in the UK. You can use a guest fridge and a microwave which is very convinient for a longer stay. My room was cosy and the bathroom modern and well equipped. Thank you, June and Greg, for an pleasant stay at your place.

Truro is a lovely city in Cornwall. People are friendly and hospitable. Tons of restaurants, shops, cafe's, and there is a Town Hall that has entertainment, movie house so a short stay here would be filled with lots to do. The Cathedral is a lovely place to visit and there is lots to do from this central point.
Hire a car and head to Newquay, Falmouth or St Ives for the day.

City centre was lovely!
City centre was lovely! We enjoyed meandering through the cathedral (which was very grand, the architecture absolutely brought me to tears, managed to light a prayer candle for lent, also they have an ongoing exhibit about awareness of abuse in the church) and the cornwall museum is closeby :D they have wacky artefacts. The coffee and cornish pasties and the pastries are the bomb dot com but the other grub not so much, i mean, it's just typical british fare innit haha also truro station connects easily to penzance and the other more touristy bits. Transportationwise, quite hard, buses are a little but unreliable even with the time table. Not much uber drivers but the taxis are popping. There are taxis around the station and they have a taxi calling app and there are cards that you can get from the accommodation. Pretty old timey but charming.

Truro is an attractive small city and it’s easy to find parking and to walk around the shops and see the cathedral.
There are plenty of places to have coffee or lunch.
The bus station is right beside the shopping area, which has a large Marks and Spencer’s, which has a cafe, a large branch of Waterstones as well as a good selection of independent shops and an indoor market.

Great base for exploring Cornwall but not sure what it’s like in summer. We parked in the town with ease but we visited in November.
Masses of shops. It is the county town so is a magnet for shoppers.
Cathedral and Cornwall Museum worth a visit. Hall for Cornwall has a variety of shows.
Thoroughly enjoyed the pasty shop for lunch.
Check roadworks though. A30 was closed intoTrurofor the whole weekend whilst work is going on building the new by pass. It took us ages to follow the detour.

I did want to explore the town a bit more, especially the cathedral, but this visit was to see a show and I had to return the next day.
I had a meal at an Italian restaurant literally up the road from the hotel, it was decent enough.

Truro is a lovely place to visit.
Truro is a lovely place to visit. Old and new buildings to see and plenty of places to go. Resturants of many different cuisines and a nice open area to sit and chill with a coffee. There is a beach, about 7 miles away, (Perranporth) which is lovely and has the traiditional fish and chips, kiss me quick hats etc and you're not too far away from the north side so Newquay etc is all available within 45 to 60 minutes in the car.
Supermarkets are a plenty in and around Truro too. The catherdral is a must to visit. A beautiful building and well worth some time spent.
A beautifully sheltered little community of holiday homes. Peaceful, clean and luxurious. The host gave simple instructions with a useful photo near the end to ensure the final turn was made correctly, and the key system worked well. Everything inside was perfect - terrific white goods, comfy sofas and beds. Two excellent showers. Only a minute or two's drive from the edge of Truro. A great bolt-hole from which to explore Cornwall's north and south coasts. The kids absolutely loved it.
For £70 a night you are not going to get a Raddison Blue, the hotel is a bit dated in places but really lovely cleans bedding, super fluffy towels and my room (8) had a fab shower !! So all in all that’s the important things, slept really well and the bar staff that check you in are lovely and helpful… very close to central Truro and cathedral…….? Small room, would I stay for a week on vacation..,,No, is it ok for a couple of nights as a business traveller….. hell yes it is !!!
This was a beautiful, tastefully decorated property. It was pristine and comfortable. Our host was welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for her. The breakfasts were great with locally sourced produce where possible. A very good find and we would highly recommend it as a quiet base to a holiday in Cornwall. It was easy to find off the main road between Bodmin and Truro, so well situated to explore any corner of the county.
Cottage is beautiful, home from home. Enclosed garden, very dog friendly and lovely location for morning and evening sniffing walks for the pup.
I was fortunate enough to meet the owner, Liz. Very lovely lady.
There were essential provisions left for us, which meant we didn't have to go to the shop on the first day.
Great base for days out, visiting different parts of Cornwall and close to city centre.
So fortunate to book one of the last rooms available at this absolutely beautiful decorated hotel. Had the pleasure of meeting the very gracious owner.
The courtyard was beautiful & a very generous continental breakfast, which was amazingly included in he price.
Definitely booking here for a longer stay next time I'm visiting the Playhouse, Hall of Cornwall.
The location is on a main road and so easy to get in and out of. The breakfast was very good and the room was big, quiet and very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. It was a very pleasant stay and I will definitely use the hotel again.
Everything was very good breakfast a bit slow on the first morning but top marks after that.we also liked the hotel as there is bus stops just out side that takes you to all the coastal places you need to visit.also lovely view from bedroom.
A gorgeous hotel with lovely gardens, helpful staff, comfortable rooms, and a sunny terrace area perfect for late afternoon drinks. Our evening meal in the restaurant was superb, and breakfast the following day was spot-on.
The property is in a great location to explore Cornwall and within walking distance (with small children) of Truro centre.
The house had lots of great features with young children and a lovely, relaxed layout.
Very easy to get to, close to Truro. Wendy was very friendly and helpful, room & bathroom extremely clean, top notch breakfast. Overall a very enjoyable stay, would certainly recommend it.
Good location. Easy walk to train station. Truro was our base town for exploring Cornwall. Grocery store right across the street. County Arms pub just down the road offered good meals.
Beech Barn, cosy, comfortable, well equipped. Perfectly located to explore Cornwall from a very peaceful base.
Friendly hosts. Beautiful views on all sides.
The room was basic but clean with a comfy bed. The best part was the staff (downstairs) - they were super nice and helpful when the heated went a bit rogue!
So convenient for concerts at Hall for Cornwall (BBC Singers), then Truro Cathedral (The Sixteen) as right in the centre of town, but no traffic noise.
