Just the best spot to watch all the activity in the port! Ships being loaded and unloaded, plus of course Christopher the seagull visiting each day. Super comfy bed, lots of nice touches in the room and kitchen. Was a home from home.

Guests will receive a complimentary welcome cheese platter and local bottle of wine. The location is very scenic. To wake up to a sunrise over mountain ranges and the fields across from the lodge was a great experience. There was only one other family at the lodge on the night that we stayed, so we pretty much had the entire house for ourselves. The house was very well maintained. The library, kitchen, patio, the room, everything was just perfect. The hosts welcomed us with a bottle of local wine and cheese and fruits platter. They gave us great information about the area. Everything was just perfect

Some units are air conditioned and include a terrace and/or a balcony, as well as a seating area. The owners were very friendly and hospitable. It is a nice set up with common kitchen/living room area, also nice to meet other travellers. The room was big and had a comfortable bed. Nice location, with a wonderful beach across the road for walks. You can prepare your own breakfast and there's plenty to choose from.

Spires Barn Lodge is a 12-minute drive from the city center. The nearest airport is Christchurch International Airport, which is just a 5-minute drive from the property. The environment is very peaceful. The house feels so comfy. The Host was very kind and friendly ☺️. We got everything we needed, a very recommended place to stay! Thank you so much!

The lodge offers a terrace. Spacious, clean & comfortable house. Large well stocked kitchen that made it easy to prepare meals. The view was of both mountains & water. Location is great. Easy to walk both to Kaikoura & South Bay & other tracks. Our host was very responsive & kind. Should we ever find ourselves in Kaikoura again, we would definitely stay here again.
