The Ligurian Gastronomic Capital: there more restaurants in this little city than inhabitants but it all worth it! The characteristic 'Focaccia col Formaggio di Recco' is known from the North Pole to Antarctica but only here you can taste the 'autentica' (the original)!!! Shopping in trendy retail store, walking on the sea side promenade while sampling a 'gelato' is what you need to do in here.
We love Liguria, and Sestri Levante is a fantastic town to visit. We stayed on the Baio di Silenzio side of town, which is a little quieter than the other side. No need for a car, very walkable and charming. Great shops, restaurants, gelato. Train station is close and connects with Portofino and Cinque Terra area. We loved the Saturday & Sunday markets!
Scenic town and a great location to visit so many of the beautiful towns in Liguria by train and boat. It was an excellent base for our explorations of the region.
Absolutely stunning views! We spent most of our time outside! Gelato everyday, sometimes twice! You are transformed to a simpler time. The people, the Ligurian Sea, the food and wine, nature and history will stay with you forever!
We really enjoyed Monterosso al Mare. It is a good home base for a visit to Cinque Terre. We visited the other towns and found them so crowded it was uncomfortable to move around even in October. Monterosso al Mare has a walkable main along the beach which is pretty. We loved the food at Cantina de Miky. They have beach front, garden and inside seating. We enjoyed the cool, quite tables inside. They offer the local anchovies prepared many traditional Ligurian ways. I had anchovies with oil and lemon which was great. My husband had chestnut pasta with wild boar ragu, fantastic! We enjoyed the local wines.
Loved that the other villages were easily accessible by ferry and train. Fantastic selection of seafood and wines from the region. We absolutely loved the Ligurian cuisine. Beaches on Monterosso were very picturesque and the village was easily walkable and scenic.
I am here in winter low season for beach towns however you can enjoy quietness. Hiking route along the cliff is savage with the astonishing view of The Liguria.
Location, location, location Many good, cheaper restaurants just 10-15 mins stroll inland from harbor scene with few touristas, more locals and great, authentic, Ligurian cuisine. Excellent town in itself and for day excursions via bus/train to Camolgi, Punta Chiappa, Rapallo, Sestri, Cinque Terre, Portofino, Chiavari, etc. Of course, busy in summer and at Easter. Gem of a town...
It‘s a 15 minute boat trip away from Portofino, 30 minutes further to San Frutuoso. Like these neighbors, Santa Margherita is a picturesque town on the Ligurian coast surrounded by mountains. We stayed for a week and were sad to leave.
Beautiful small old town on the beach full of character & great restaurants. Easy to get around. Helpful tourist information, beautiful coastal walks & close to the station for exploring Liguria.
Sestri Levante
Best experience in Liguria. Apartment is ideally located on the main street of historical center, so everything you may need is simply downstairs. Great beaches (free and private) are 5 mins walk. Apartment is fully renovated – all details are very good quality, has enough space for 2-3 people and everything you may need to be independent in washing and cooking. Windows are great quality – the main bar of the town right under our windows never disturbed us! Hosts are fantastic people, it was a pleasure to meet you and we’ll definitely be back 😊
Riomaggiore
I loved the room and the view is amazing! however the shower is very tiny if you are a big person good luck very clean also. there is a restaurant there the food is nice but the portions are very small, it is something I noticed in Liguria at the restaurant, I am italian in my region our portions are bigger, I am a skinny person I do not eat a lot but the portions in Liguria are extremelly small, and the restaurant is a bit expensive so I will not be back in LIguria sorry however I will give a 10 to the hotel! thanks for everything
Chiavari
This lovely Ligurian accommodation is in a perfect location with breathtaking views towards Portofino. There is a village shop/bar and nearby Chiavari is delightful. The friendly and helpful hostess Sylvia does everything she can to make your holiday really enjoyable. The well-equipped apartment is super clean and comfortable and has lots of welcoming items and treats. There are interesting walks and hiking trails nearby. It was good to meet Alberto, Sylvia's father! This property is highly recommended.
The calm, quiet and panoramic view sets stage for a very nice stay. It is however when combined with the hospitality, kitchen and an excellent assortment of Ligurian wines - also available by the glass and not only full bottles - that you are set for a truly excellent experience at La Sosta. From this spot you can just as easily explore Cinque Terre as any of the downtown or by the beach hotels. The difference comes when you retreat to La Sosta in the evening as well as when you wake up for breakfast. Pure bliss!
Location was right on the harbour/beach front, . Great for walks in the evening. Economical apartment in a more traditional Italian town ideal for families with easy access to other towns along the Liguria coast. The train station was just a couple of minutes walk from the apartment, regular trains to visit Cinque Terra, Pisa, Genoa, Portofino etc. Apartment was well equipped for cooking and supermarkets were close by with plenty of restaurants at reasonable prices. Beds were comfy and bathroom was modern.
Great location, especially if you need to be close to Brignole station (from which you van go to lots of small Ligurian towns on the beach). Beautiful, newly renovated hotel. The breakfast was exceptional. Fresh juice, really good cheeses and baked goods. We loved the room bc it had plenty of natural light. The hotel staff was very professional. We also needed additional blanket and the cleaning lady immediately brought it - great hospitality! I recommend staying in this hotel 100%!
La Spezia
Late check-in possible, perfect contact with friendly and helpful owner, tidy room, coffee in the room, set of towels, hot water in the shower, soap and shampoo in the bathroom, free parking on the street just 50-100m from the apartment, big supermarket in front of the apartment, bus stop close to the apartment (take you to the la spezia centrum or other towns like portovenere). best price for this quality, a great base for trips to Liguria and Toskania.
Apartment is in good location, close to the centre, and walkable distance to the beach, very close you have everything, restoraunt, cafe, market, meat store....Train station is not far, as well as bus station which we frequently used for travelling to Ligurian riviera beaches which are just great, as is the city of Savona! Flat is spacious, well equiped, and very, very nice, hosts are just great, friendly and very helpful!
Vernazza
Absolutely everything. The rooms are immaculate; furnishings and fixtures are new. That view from the web pictures is 100% accurate. The staff is personal and helpful in every way. After a stay here, the only place to go is home because everywhere else will seem more crowded and less enchanting. Vernazza is far and away the best mix of shops & restaurants relaxation on the Ligurian coast.
The location is near the airport and is probably good for this type of travelers. We chose this location as a starting point for the surroundings (Ligurian coast) and it's close to the highway which was a plus. The hotel has a garage (16 euros per day) but you can park in front of the hotel free of charge. The internet was excellent and the rooms were big enough. The breakfast was great.
The location is perfect. It is a nice, safe area of Genova, 1km from Porto Antico and 1km from Genova Brignole train station, where you can take the train to travel the Ligurian Coast. It is also close to good restaurants and bakeries. Also, there's a coffee shop right downstairs; we had coffee from here each morning. The apartment itself is spacious and clean, and we enjoyed our stay.
Pietra Ligure
Sant'Anna is at a perfect location close to the center of Pietra Ligure, a nice and atmospheric village at the Ligurian coast. From the balcony you have a magnificent view over the village and the sea. The swimming pool is excellent and the staff very friendly. The apartments are not to big, but reasonable value for money at the Ligurian coast. There is a separate room for bikes.
Sanremo
A very essential, 5 room property but everything works properly if you are not spending too much time at the hotel. Very easy access, not far away (less than 7 minutes) from the best car wash in the whole Liguria. Therefore I did not use the parking facilities of the hotel. The room is of a good size, silent, good however small bathroom, good shower.
I think, there is a big problem with hotels and apartments in Italy. But I was really surprised with this hotel. I expected much worse considering I am in Liguria :) - Great breakfast with different range of food - New furniture and everything stylish - Friendly professional staff Thank you for such a beautiful stay, we would definitely come back!
Levanto
Everything was perfect! We loved the peaceful nature location- with the sounds only of birds and crickets! It was a spacious apartment with all our needs thoughtfully provided- so homey with a view to the olive trees and hills- all the way to the Ligurian sea! I never wanted to leave❤️ Franca was such a wonderful host- so thorough and kind!🙏❤️
Vernazza
Ideal location in the heart of Vernazza. No challenge finding cold Limoncello nearby. Blue Marlin cafe across the street was convenient and ideal for morning cappuccino and cornetti. Ligurian pesto trofi top notch. The nooks and crannies of Vernazza to be explored. Anchovy pizza fantastico. La Torre restaurant unrivaled views.
Pietra Ligure
The owners gave me a brochure about things to do in the area. This was great and made my stay unforgettable impressive. The location of the apartment was so central that I could walk to most of the attractions, Grotte di Borgio Verezzi, Pietra Liguria old town and Loano. Also the weekly market was just down the street.
La Spezia
Professional and friendly service. Rooms clean and well-kept. The hotel is perfectly situated literally in the railway station building. Very good for trips to Cinque Terre and Liguria. Delicious sweet breakfasts in a cafe nearby. We sat in the garden at the roundabout and admired the city life.
La Spezia
A large apartment with 2 rooms, very clean and quiet, right in the historic center. Rich, generous and delicious breakfast, with everything you need. The host Alessandra gave us useful travel tips and for visiting the area. Thank you! We will definitely come back here when we visit Liguria again.
Fabulous place to stay and base there to go around Liguria we stayed five days and it was fabulous Great buffet and fabulous breakfast Great personnel specially the Hotel manager Mister Andrea great customer service and always available to help and assist Fabulous stay fully recommended
