The breakfast could didn’t have a lot of options and was extremely busy, though the dining room was huge. Also the coffee was just bad, watery and tasteless, and there was no option to order better coffee at the bar.

I booked a single room but due to the fact that my boyfriend accidentally joined me, we had to ask for a larger room, which was possible. The room was clean and spacious and contained everything we needed. The interior is a little bit old-fashioned but it’s a matter of taste

Informed that recently reopened, but requires a lot of repairs to the building, roofing, and generally requires quick repairs, cleaning of outside areas, and removing of waste that had built up outside the property, in areas accessed by clients.

It was central to Thurso, and the position was good for the reason we attended. It was on the main road. Provided breakfast that was average but fair. The rooms were clean, with clean bedding, and reasonably clean rooms / bathrooms. Clean towels.

Knobs for water too hard to turn. Car park was filthy. Breakfast very poor - instant coffee, not much variety (no fruit except prunes).

In need of a little modernisation

the hair dryer in the room kept over heating and cut out took her forever to dry her hair. could do with a new one.

breakfast was good but unfortunately no fried eggs, room was very satisfactory, toilet could benifit from a refurb, all in all a nice hotel right in the centre of town and value for money.

The Breakfast was a little lacking and often not hot (Chaffing dish burner were allowed to burn out and not replaced to keep food hot for the whole breakfast service. During our stay there were lots or coach parties in and they seemed to take priority. The first night there was a sign saying that the restaurant was closed that day fro dinner - It was never open for dinner while we were there

Not very much parking Breakfast times were wrong online so ended up not being able to have breakfast which was included in the price. Only given 2 very thin pillows Fire alarm went off during the night, no apology given as I checked out. No one told us that we could go back inside and we were waiting in the cold for ages after the alarm had finished going off

The room was clean and a comfortable temperature. Extra blanket in cupboard if required.

Our room was originally at the back of the hotel. It was dull and dreary. We had a view overlooking tiled roofs and backyards. The shower cubicle had seen better days. Overall appearances were tired looking and worn out, However, we made ourselves at home, and just out of pure habit, I put on the tv , but it had no reception. I mentioned this on our way out for a walk, not as a complaint but just for something to sort, ideally before we returned. But they decided it would be easier for us to be moved. Which was an improvement. My only complaints with this room was the shower was very weak. Our bucket was emptied but the cleaner failed to replace the bin liner. No hand soap. Breakfast was self service and had a good selection of cooked food. Egg , bacon, black pudding sausage etc, but it was not hot. The hot plates were not doing their job properly and the breakfast plates were cold to touch which wouldn't have helped. All said and done , it was good value for the money compared to other hotels in the town but does need some serious investment or at least more attention to detail over the thing's I have mentioned.

The hotel is in a great location, town centre and they also have free residents parking . Our room was at the front of the hotel and was roomy, bright and airy. Plenty storage for clothes etc. Coffee and tea facilities . It had good hot water. The help yourself breakfast had a reasonable variety as in cooked and un cooked options. Easy access into the hotel, either from the front or the rear from the carpark. Staff were very polite and helpful.
