When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

Nothing, I turn up and place was so dirty, we end up just waste the money and didn’t stay, pay for a proper hotel room, host was so RUDE, bed and chair dirty, share bathroom was unbelievable, no one can stay in that condition. Never offer any refund for us, just get shouted at by the host !!!

Everything about the room and the host was unexceptional dirty, rude and mislead!

Fabulous location on the Headland at Whitby, next to Whitby Abbey. Beautiful garden, lovely shared spaces and great Cafe. Well set up shared kitchen for self catering. Room itself basic but clean and comfortable.

Breakfast was freshly cooked and contained the options I selected. This included the provision of hot water for my own supplied herbal tea. Sustainable approach to butter & marmalade instead of small wraps

The doorman Paul was a pleasure to meet and chat with, the hotel was spotless and very comfortable and the location couldn't be more central to everything.

On our first night our electricity went out and we were moved to another smaller room and told we would be moved back to our room once the issue was fixed. We approached concierge on multiple occasions over the two/three nights and were advised there was nothing that could be done regards the electricity issue which we understood. However we had paid extra for a larger room and it was insisted the room size and amenities were the same even though the bathroom/room size was significantly smaller and lacked amenities such as hair dryer and seating area which had been provided in our originally selected room.

The location is good for getting to Scrabster the morning following. Breakfast was good and an early start too (0700).

Nothing really, everything as expected; stayed there before, a couple of times.

A good location for buses into the centre and 10 mins walk to the nearest tube station.

I was allocated one of the six basement rooms, so very little outside light comes in and it felt dark during the day. I expected a sofa in the room from the photos, but the photo was obviously not my room. The dvds available in the hall is a nice touch, but a pity the dvd player did not work and not replaced after reporting it, despite being there four nights.. There were ants in the room. I got rid of them, but they were still coming in even when I left, despite reporting it. No teaspoons in the room either- a small point, but just summarised the lack of detail to make the place a good place to stay.

The swimming pool and the staff there was lovely

The reception staff and they promised a lot but got nothing. Asked for a double bed and they gave 2 single beds joined together. The place was full of dust too. It was so disappointing I left before check out time. I had expectations as a standard hotel but they couldn’t deliver the bear minimum.
